Excessive Military Spending

Excessive Military Spending is spending money for military's pay, food, and weapons. Military spending left few resources for other vital activities such as providing housing/ maintaining road qualities. The military shared Rome's resources, this meant there was not enough resources to go around. The government found it necessary to hire  foreign soldiers. The amount of Roman men serving in the military decreased. Rome lost their once populated military.
